I can’t believe Christmas is in two days! Honestly I am really excited for Christmas this year. At almost three years old, Mila is at the age where she is really excited for Christmas and appreciates and admires the holiday decor and cheer. It is fun to remember feeling  the awe and wonderment of the holiday season as a child especially waking up on Christmas morning ecstatic to unwrap all of the presents under the tree. My mom always had lots of Christmas decorations and now as a mother myself I want my girls to experience the same as I did, with lots of beautiful decorations around the house to celebrate winter and Christmas. Each year I plan to slowly add a few new pieces of decor to our holiday decorations. I really want to try to hit up sales after Christmas too.

This year we added the skiing nutcracker which we found at Lowe’s. He is super cute and our family loves to ski so it’s perfect for our home. I would love to create a nutcracker collection through the years. Growing up we had lots of nutcrackers and I am a fan of them.

The snowman snow globe is new too. We got it at Joann Fabrics. It sings the tune of the 12 days of Christmas. I would also love to build a snow globe collection.

The pretty beaded glittery tree decoration I found at Sierra Trading Post. It looks great on our breakfast nook table. This is one Christmas decor piece that I love so much. I saw it and knew I had to have it haha.

I’ve wanted a Norfolk Island Pine house plant for years. During the holiday season they are everywhere as some people use them for a Christmas decoration, putting lights and ornaments on them. I was entering King Soopers when I saw two sitting in the entryway. I told myself if it was still there by the time I was done shopping, I’d bring it home, so it was and I did. It now happily lives downstairs in our family room. I have a mountain woodsy theme for that room so the plant compliments the room. I could have decorated it but appreciate it as it is and am so happy to see it grow through the years!

We got our Christmas Tree at Lowe’s again this year. We tried to get one at a tree farm but we drove up and the employee told us they sold the last tree in the morning. For the third year in a row we went with a Fraser Fir tree. I just love the look and smell of them. We will forever bring home live Christmas trees. They bring so much beauty to the home.

I added another large spool of gold and white snowflake ribbon to the tree in addition to the red and gold ribbon I have used in prior years. Honestly I really like the classic red look of Christmas in addition with blue as an accent color. This color combo will probably always be used in our holiday decor.

I had fun decorating our home with Christmas decor. Each year it will change and it’ll be fun to look back at the different holiday season’s decor. Here is our Christmas decor from 2017.

I hope you enjoy the holiday season and Merry Christmas to you and yours!
