After we finished my birthday hike we were hungry and planned on having lunch in Cripple Creek or Victor, Colorado. I had never been to either town so it was really fun to visit them. Cripple Creek is an old gold mining town that is now a present day gambling town. Victor is the tiny town nearby. I loved the old and bright colored historic buildings and the small town charm of both places.

We were going to eat at a cafe in Cripple Creek but it closed as soon as we got there. Instead we checked out a cute gift shop and I left with a couple crystals. Then we headed to Victor to check out another cafe which was unfortunately closed as well. It was around 4:30 pm by the time we finished the hike.

We decided to drive to Woodland Park where we ate at a Mexican Restaurant. Mila had a good time and was highly entertained. I was surprised when they started singing and put a sombrero on my head. They even shoved my face in the whip cream from the sopapilla desert, lol. I blew out my candle and we shared my treat. It was fun and an overall a good experience. Since our house was being painted at the time and everything was covered in plastic, we had birthday cake outside on our back patio when we got home. Mila loved to see me blow out my candles. Since I turned 30 I really wanted to blow out all of the candles that I have earned for each year of life I’ve lived lol. It was a great 30th birthday!

Isn’t this house and barn scene so pretty? I kind of want to attempt to recreate this scene in watercolors!
