This year was the first year that Thomas and I hosted Thanksgiving at our house. Every year since we’ve been together, the past 8 years we’ve spent Thanksgiving day with family. This has been awesome, but it was pretty special to be able to cook all the food and host our own Thanksgiving this year! Now that we are homeowners and live in the same state as our families it was fun to decorate and host and I look forward to all the fun hosting we will be doing in our home for years to come. My favorite part was decorating the table! Here was our Thanksgiving tablescape…

I’ve never owned Thanksgiving decorations until this year. The day after Halloween was over Michael’s had 80% off their Halloween/fall decor so I got the little racoon and squirrel there. Then I went to Hobby Lobby two weeks after Halloween and got the glittery acorns and pine cones for 50% off. I went back a week later and the fall decor was 80% off, so I snagged the two glittery pumpkins I had been eyeing the week before and the cute little turkey decoration.
I thrifted the real brass candle holders for $3 each and ordered these awesome beeswax candles from Amazon handmade.
I got the chambray table runner and the floral placemats at Home Goods. I used a floral embroidered curtain from World Market as the table cloth.
Anyway, our Thanksgiving was a success and we had a great time hosting! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving! Now we are in Christmas season and the decor is coming out. I can’t wait till we get our Christmas tree!
