I’m a sucker for bamboo. I love its light color, airy feel and its natural aesthetic. I think it’s even cooler that the panda bear (one of my favorite animals) eats it and it also can be transformed into practical furniture, clothing and much more. I love it so much that we drove two hours to pick up our bamboo table and chairs from a Craigslist ad when we lived in Utah.
I was searching for months for a bamboo table and chairs and when the ad was posted, I was on it. I love the curves of the chairs and the symmetrical detailing of themand the table stand. For $60 bucks it was a great deal! The vintage chairs cushions weren’t in good condition though and were attached to the chairs. So my husband drilled wood backings on the bottom and I found these beautiful chair cushions at World Market that really elevate and pull together the whole dining set.
When we moved into this house the light fixture above it was a rod iron metal chandelier with wood accents and five bulbs. It did not match the table, so I knew a bamboo pendant would be the perfect pairing. World Market is one of my favorite places to shop and this bamboo pendant truly matches and beautifully changes the entire look of our breakfast nook.
Our breakfast nook area is still in progress. I need to put a plant in the teal pot. I’m not sure whether we should paint the wall by the breakfast nook and/or fill the wall with art. What do you guys think? Only time will tell. For now I love our breakfast nook area and so do our kitties as you can see them hanging out in the pictures. 🙂 It is the morning hangout place to be for our kitty cats. My favorite part is when the morning light floods the room.
